At TechSwich we provide a range of workstation computers suitable professional image editing. We can easily customise any of our workstations to suit your specific needs and budget.

We have developed a range of workstations to suit most budgets. Each computer we build is intended to meet the specific requirements and budgets of our clients. We have done the hard work for you, researching the most suitable components and comparing benchmarks. We are confident that our photography workstations will provide excellent performance for a variety of photo editing programs.

Here is a summary of the requirements that most photographer’s will expect from their computers.

Performance

We understand the importance of getting the job done quickly. Our computers are high-performance and designed with our client’s performance expectations in mind.

CPU

Most image editing software packages support multi-core processors. We have used high performance multi-core CPUs for all our image editing workstations. However the software often doesn’t scale well beyond 2-4 threads depending on the type of edits being done. We have therefore favoured higher clock speed and single core performance when selecting the CPU to achieve the best photo editing performance.

Video Card

Most photo editing programs take advantage of graphics acceleration by using the graphics processor for previews, galleries, thumbnails and some image edits. We have included a dedicated graphics card in our TechSwich Sepia M, Sepia A and Sepia I workstations.

Photo editing software

Our high-performance workstations are designed to efficiently run photo editing software. Each workstation can effectively run Photoshop, Lightroom, Corel and other photo editing programs.

Storage

Large amounts of hard drive space are required to store a photographer’s many pictures.

Most professional cameras take photos in at least 16-18MP resolution, some use a higher resolution. Photographers will often take their pictures using the RAW format which is higher quality and takes up more storage space compared to JPEG format. Regardless of which format you use to take your photos, the photos can quickly fill up the storage space on your hard drive.

All our photography workstations include plenty of storage. Our workstations include both a faster solid state drive for running the operating system and software and a larger capacity hard drive for storing the photographs.

At your request we are also able to include larger capacity drives or additional drives for more storage space. With multiple hard drives we can also set up a suitable RAID configuration for improved access speeds and reliability.

Remember to back up! There are many ways to approach this, if you don’t have a backup plan in place let us know if you would like to discuss your options. We can include an additional hard drive for backups at your request.

Memory

Our image editing workstations include at least 16GB or 32GB of high-speed DDR4 RAM and support up to 64GB RAM if you wish to upgrade.

Sharing

We understand the importance of sharing your photographs with others. That’s why most of our photography workstations include a BD-R drive. This gives you the flexibility of saving your photos to both DVD disks and higher capacity Blu-Ray disks for sharing with your friends, family and customers.

Future Proof

Our workstations are functional and flexible and can easily be modified or upgraded to suit your requirements.
